They say when you pray to God, go to your alone place. So I went and this is what i saw.
This place was over an hour hike from my car. I put my bible in my pack along with some water. I went there for the sole purpose of spending time in prayer with God. I expected nothing but a view that might remind of the greatness of God. I was just sitting down when this site appeared. I wondered about what I was seeing. Is anyone else seeing this? I thought. The longer I remained in prayer the closer the sun came. After I had finished I stood to my feet and as I collected myself for the journey back the sun spot just disappeared. Maybe this was just a gift for me.
For a perspective, the pine tree next to the trail is 25 ft high. The hill I'm standing on is 165 ft above the water level. The sun spot stayed for over 25 minits coming closer to shore the longer it stayed.

Life and Death

Some say death is a part of living. When a loved one has to face dieing they don't want to face it alone. We are with them because we ourselves hope that we're not alone if we have to face death someday.

However, some of us may face death alone. Its a very real possibility. Separated from human contact. Nobody hold our hand or hugging us. Or telling us something meaningful about our lives.

Jesus bore our sins on the cross alone without human contact while he died. His mother and family were there, but couldn't offer any comfort.

There is a way that we'll never have to face death alone. Even if no one else is around. If we accept Jesus into our lives he will always be there for us even when we die.

Sure there is death in life. Jesus was the only one who brought life in death. Because of his death we may have life.

500 years earlier

Isaiah 53

3 He was despised and rejected by men,
a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.
Like one from whom men hide their faces
he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he took up our infirmities
and carried our sorrows,
yet we considered him stricken by God,
smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was upon him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted,
yet he did not open his mouth;
he was led like a lamb to the slaughter,
and as a sheep before her shearers is silent,
so he did not open his mouth.

9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked,
and with the rich in his death,
though he had done no violence,
nor was any deceit in his mouth.

10 Yet it was the Lord’s will to crush him and cause him to suffer,
and though the LORD makes [c] his life a guilt offering,
he will see his offspring and prolong his days,
and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

11 After the suffering of his soul,
he will see the light of life and be satisfied ;
by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many,
and he will bear their iniquities.

Encouraging Evolution

Encouraging to find out that the more science discovers in the infinite vastness of the universe to the infinitely small that many end up not believing that it could be left up to chance.

It amazes me that the human intelligence can go so deep and to get so involved into science that they find God. So they become believers and say that it can only be God.

I love science. But I was a believer before science convinced me.

How Much Time

Given enough time and if we take enough time to consider everything for every situation when making a decision we hope we made the right one.

Sometimes we vacillate back and forth too much. We congest our thinking with too much thought, giving us what some call "analysis paralysis".

For us to consider all the information, we have to have enough information.

Sometimes we'll think we have enough information to form a decision and sometimes we are just dead wrong.

Ask Yourself; did I make the right decision to NOT to ask God to be in my life? We try to "reason" our way to an answer.

Jesus giving his life for us is not "reasonable". You can't reason why he gave his life for you. But he did.

Nobody on their death bed has said; Boy i wish Jesus was never in my life.

How much time do you have? Do you think that asking Jesus into your life will make you a bad person?

Fan or follower?

Some say "We go to church". Its now time to consider that we "Be the Church".
Are you a fan of Jesus or a follower of Jesus?

If you are a follower, that means that your faith is active. Which means that you are invoking your "will" into following Jesus.

"Your Will", is the gift that God gave to all of us. After all, what would it be like if following God was a requirement?

What would it be like if we required our spouses and children to tell us that they love us? Wouldn't it be good if they could just come to you and tell you through their own will?

God will never interfere with the gift of free will that he gave you. He wont come into your life unless you ask Him. Truely ask Him from your heart and see what happens.

Age

As we grow older, some us are less receptive to change. We don't go to unfamiliar territory as we age.

I want this to be a WARNING to you. Do not harden your heart toward God.

If you don't leave an area open in your heart and when the opportunity comes to let him in your life you wont receive Him there.

You will prematurely cancel out the chance you have if harden your heart.

God does not want to control your life. He just wants to be in your life. Jesus came to make a new covenant with us. We don't live by the law in Jesus. In Jesus you're not judged by the law.

John 14:6
Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
Mark 10:5
"It was because your hearts were hard that Moses wrote you this law"
