They say when you pray to God, go to your alone place. So I went and this is what i saw.
This place was over an hour hike from my car. I put my bible in my pack along with some water. I went there for the sole purpose of spending time in prayer with God. I expected nothing but a view that might remind of the greatness of God. I was just sitting down when this site appeared. I wondered about what I was seeing. Is anyone else seeing this? I thought. The longer I remained in prayer the closer the sun came. After I had finished I stood to my feet and as I collected myself for the journey back the sun spot just disappeared. Maybe this was just a gift for me.
For a perspective, the pine tree next to the trail is 25 ft high. The hill I'm standing on is 165 ft above the water level. The sun spot stayed for over 25 minits coming closer to shore the longer it stayed.

Telling The Story

You now how people repeat some stories that they've heard and over time details of the story became skewed. Details were left out or added changing the whole intended meaning of the story.

I have done this very thing knowingly and unknowingly. Simply because I didn't take the time to remember it completely or correctly.

I try very hard to repeat a story as exactly as I can. Not leaving out any of the details even the tiniest ones that may play a part in the whole story. Some people perceive these details as meaningless.

I am no detective but, I have seen tiny details bring about big meanings over time. So I am about the details.

Some people are so impatient that they don't want to hear all the details or if they've been made to hear the entire story, only at the end they understand how important the small details were.

These same impatient people can also tell a good detailed story while expecting us to be patient for all of those details.

I am a patient listener. But my thought processes are deep. When someone is telling a story, especially a factual one I begin, and have to monitor myself, to analyze the possibilities, looking for conflicting facts, finishing the sentences, or prematurely drawing conclusions while I am listening. I have to continually focus on the exact story while all of this is processing.

There are people that, while they are telling a story, and find that they have to stick in their own excerpts all along the way, I find this most annoying. It pulls me back and forth in and out of the facts and taints the entire effect of the orderly details. Kind of like someone talking all the way through a movie. Please tell me the complete story, then we can review it and put in our excerpts.

This is one reason for a justice (government) system that most of the world lives by, they have to sift through all the crap stories just to get all the facts and try to assemble them into one big picture of factual orderly content.

People throughout history have been known for these fallible story tellers. We have learned that even in ancient times the government employed people called "scribes, secretaries, and recorders". To be a scribe, you had to be highly educated and of good standing among the people. These scribes lived around various communities recording all important events of the day. If you think illiteracy is a problem today, literate people back then were few. Studies do show that people back then carried a high intelligence. People were as intelligent as today's doctors lawyers and professors to name a few.

The ancient governments relied on accurate details and information from their scribes. Death was the punishment for published lies. And the scribes knew this well for they're task was to accurately record history.

Jeremiah 36
in the Holy Bible describes an incident involving a scribe.
Exodus 6:16
These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years.
Numbers 33:2
At the LORD's command Moses recorded the stages in their journey. It's even a record in Egyptian history that Moses was very intelligent and educated.

So you see that the Holy Bible really is a record of history and is regarded by scholars as highly accurate.

When Jesus died on the cross and rose from the grave, is an accurate government record of history. It did happen. And all the words he taught are true. Study them for yourself. See the truth with your own heart.

Pay Some Respect

Why do we go to a grave when someone is dead? To visit the memory of them?
I have never felt compelled to go to any of my grandparents, or any of my relatives, or many of my friends grave sites. I've been back to some of these, but I never felt like they were even there. Just their hair bones and clothes.

A friend of mine died a little over a year ago. We grew up together between ages 8 through 18. We worked together some later in life. We fished and hunted together. I remember the effect that his life had on mine. And still does. Nothing profound. He was a genuine person. A good man. An honest hardworking man. I don't think he was the kind of person to work hard just because he needed a paycheck.

Much of the time that we worked together we were employed by his family. Some of the nicest people on the earth. The nicest people that anyone could meet. He could have worked less because these people wouldn't have fired him for any reason. But he worked hard none the less. I like working hard too. Mostly because I like to feel like I really accomplished something in a short amount of time. Because time always seems so very short to me.

Time is short. Andy my friend is gone. I sure do miss that guy.

His wife dropped me a note the other day. She seemed to be doing alright. This was the second man in her young life that she lost prematurely. HE was another friend of mine. And she too is a very very good person. Never bothering anyone. She and I grew up together too. We all had a lot of the same friends.

Time is short. The memories of these people are as alive in my heart right now as they were when we were all together. I don't need to go to a grave to remember someone.

God help me to remember these people and the effect they all have on my life. Because they all matter to you. Their lives all have value because they add value to every ones life. Let us all be thankful for the people in our lives.

Too many times

I think that we too many times let an opportunity pass without saying something important.

Yesterday I sent a message to my High School Teacher. I wrote in it how much he made a difference in my life. He had a disciplinary structure that motivated me to do better in school. The way he taught was also a bonus. The process he used, made me organize my thinking. Changing the way I saw myself and the way I processed what I learned.

I didn't focus so much on what I was learning but how I was learning it.

I think maybe in some way it prepared for the time when I learned what Jesus taught in the bible, it made me more aware of the way he taught. The way he taught gives us some insight into Gods character. His character shows us the parables that he used to illustrate day to day situations. Allowing us to figure them out.

I always wondered why he taught in parables. I know why now. Do you?

Separation From God

What is sin? Sin is anything that "causes" us separation from God? Sin is not a plot to commit evil.

It is the nature of our fleshly being. "Human" nature as some call it.

There is a "divine nature" that we can only know through our spirits. The divine nature is of God and the nature of God. What is true and right and good.

Sin causes spiritual decay. And eventually death. Apparently the only way to extinguish spiritual death is to incinerate it for eternity.

If a Super Nova occurs, its because of the natural forces that cause it to happen. That's how it is with sin. Sin leads to the natural "spiritual nova" death.

God knows this. He doesn't want that to happen to us. Because he loves us all.
He has made the provision for us to avoid this death. But its our choice.

Its like telling a child; "don't put your finger in the fan". Its gonna hurt. They try to imagine what it would feel like so they do it anyway. Some don't, they listen and do the right thing. Trusting what they've been taught by the parents who love them.

The same way God loves you. He wants you to do whats right so you wont get hurt.

The one thing that is out of Gods hands is your freedom to choose. A gift he gave to everyone and everything.

1 Peter 1:14
As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

Spiritual Connection

Is there more to life than casual conversation between people? Phrases like; "good morning", "how ya doing", "nice weather we're haven", and "whats for supper"?
Is life just on the surface or is there something more? Or is there something deeper?

The deepness we experience with others usually involves place's in the heart. Many don't like to go there because they feel out of control when risking exposure of their inner most being. Its because the places in the heart are connected with emotion.

Men feel that getting emotional can expose whats perceived by other men as weaknesses.

Showing strength is what men believe others can see as a sign of who they are. They want to be perceived as strong for supporting security in their families and within themselves.

It can be argued that the strength within ourselves comes from the union of body soul and spirit. Each one having its own strength and purpose equally. Most attention is placed on the body and then the mind. Its the spirit within us that does all the leading but we tend to only focus on the mind and body.

After the sex part of marriage is done clouding over why we thought we needed to be married, we find that this deep relationship is very good in our souls and spirits.

You see we all find out that in life we are all looking for that deep connection with another. Its really about making that deep spiritual connections that we feel is the ultimate answer to the questions we don't know how to ask.

What is it in my spirit that brings my thoughts toward God?

Romans 6:6
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

2 Corinthians 1:22
set his seal of ownership on us, and put his Spirit in our hearts as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:23
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Balloon Maker

A very good person invented the balloon. He added helium and then colors. He sees how wonderful and good they are. They may bring joy to people. He then takes them out into the world hoping that people would see how much joy happiness they can bring.
A person went up to the balloon maker and asked; "how much for one of those things?" The Maker replied ; "they're not for sale" as he held one of the balloons out for the person to grab. Then the person extended his hand to received the balloon. The person was happy. He then took the balloon home to share it with his children and family.

This kind of event took place time after time and day after day. Until some of the people who had received balloons started sharing the balloons, that the Balloon Maker had entrusted them with, to pass out to more people on their own. Sharing this joy that they had found with everyone.

Now in time other people, simply ignored anyone passing out the balloons. Some people who had been given balloons, popped them, and let the air out of them, or just let go of them. And some people sold them for monetary gain.

None of these actions were intended by the balloon maker. He simply wanted to offer people something to bring joy into their lives. Where as others were content with destructive actions for their own enjoyment and could never truly see the beauty in them that the Balloon Maker had intended.

Consider the possibilities. Give yourself a chance to consider how your life will end without God. Will your short life here on the earth be enough for you?

You have been offered the truth.

Read God's word. But before you do, ask him, if you are real reveal yourself to me. It is the honest action you give toward his direction that will give you those answers.

If you deny God exists it doesn't mean that he doesn't. Find the answers yourself. But at least look. You have to invoke your own will by doing it. He will not force himself to you. He is holding the balloon out for you to take. Take Jesus into your lives.

John 14:17
the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
